Matthew Rowan, DDS, MSD

Dr. Rowan is a native of Merced and is proud to call the Central Valley his home.  He has been in practice for nearly 30 years and finds great enjoyment in providing specialized endodontic care for the people of Merced and the surrounding communities. His father was a respected dentist in Merced for more than 50 years and Dr. Matt has patterned his practice after the honest, ethical and professional manner that he grew up observing in his father’s office.

Dr. Rowan attended public schools in Merced through his graduation from Merced High School.  He received his Bachelor’s of Science in Zoology / Marine Biology from Brigham Young University.  Following his time at BYU, Dr. Rowan attended the University of California at San Francisco Dental School where he completed his DDS (Doctor of Dental Surgery) degree. Dr. Rowan then attended the University of Washington where he received specialized training in Endodontics, including root canal treatment and re-treatment, and microscopic endodontic surgery.  While at the University of Washington, Dr. Rowan also completed a Masters Degree which produced publications related to the specialized instruments used in his profession. 

Dr. Rowan is a member of the American Association of Endodontists, The California State Association of Endodontists, The American Dental Association, and The Yosemite Dental Association.

He is also a board member of the G3 Foundation, a humanitarian organization that provides free dental services for those without access to care in various parts of the world. 

He and his wife have five children.
